The brief was to design and deliver an internal event for the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) around innovation in government ICT procurement practices. It was 60 people from a cross-sector group of stakeholders plus senior officials building ideas to be fed back into the OECD E-leaders Working Group.
The outcome was a mashup of priming exercises to get attendees ready to be creative and then activities based on group engagement principles (taken from different frameworks design thinking and collaboration models):
“DK helped us plan and facilitate a hack style event focused on innovating government’s sourcing model. We wanted to apply a different approach to problem solving – something that was engaging and entertaining while also giving us the outcomes we needed. DK exceeded our expectations on all fronts. He was meticulous in his planning, thought outside of the box in his design of the day and offered the experience we needed to facilitate a range of divergent thinking. His creative leadership helped shape a unique experience and we received an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees. His calm and gentle manner meant the process was stress free and most importantly fun!”
