Founder of leading social media training / consulting agency, MediaSnackers (a term I coined early 2004/5’ish) plus CEO / executive-level mentoring firm, Social Media For Suits (both ‘paused’ in 2011 and just been picking up freelance gigs ever since), have been part of online communities and blogging since 2000 plus produced over 200 podcasts.

I get paid usually for two things: speaking on all things social plus consulting clients on their strategies. Been lucky enough to work on five continents plus have spent time as a social media manager for a NZ national education organisation (when I first moved to NZ) and also in my fourth year as a mentor for the Digital Marketing Academy.


Public speaking is a skill set which needs to be nurtured and developed along with storytelling techniques. When combined they provide a powerful strategy which is guaranteed to have a positive impact on achieving communication which resonates.

I’ve been getting paid to speak publicly for over ten years, across five continents and for a variety of sectors. Been lead speaker coach for six TEDx events including TEDxWellington (x3), TEDxTeAro (x2), TEDxQueenstown (1), TEDxWellingtonWomen (x1).

Other clients have included several individuals, Slack, MBIE, KiwiBank and Park Road Post Productions (Sir Peter Jackson’s personal film production studio).

In addition to producing the highly successful TEDx conference, DK recently finished establishing and managing a city-wide activation programme called Collider, which focuses on transforming the city into an internationally recognised smart city. The initiative was the first of its kind for the capital and in 14 months they ran nearly 200 successful events. Oh and Speaking With Purpose.
